Our Agronomic Practices for the Generation of Carbon Credits
1
Application of organic farming principles: capillary promotion of organic agriculture management
2
Minimal soil tillage: Zero tillage (direct seeding) / Minimum tillage (tillage max 10-15cm – without turning)
3
Green Cover: spontaneous or sowed vegetation; use of cover crops for the whole year where/when possible
4
Intercropping: promoting biodiversity by integrating two or more species of crops, plants, or trees in the same plot simultaneously
5
Farm management with edges, rows and forest integrated into field crops: creation of buffer zones, windbreaks, and hedges
6
Management of woody plantation pruning residue, used as amendments/mulching: soil conditioner
7
Application of inorganic natural strengtheners (rock powders: zeolite, kaolin, etc.) and natural leaf fertilizers to enhance the natural defenses of plants
8
Radical reduction in the use of synthetic fertilizers (at least 15%)
9
Radical reduction of synthetic pesticides (at least 50% in the first year compared to the status quo) as per regulations
10
Recycling of farm’s organic matter: agro-industrial waste, biochar, anaerobic digestate, compost, farmyard manure
11
Planting of new vine, orchards, olive trees and other woody perennial species or thickening of existing ones
12
Cropland or conversion of cropland with annual crops to grassland/pastureland or permanent crops
13
Improved crop rotations: promote crop rotation so that the same species return to the same land at suitably long intervals; including industrial hemp crop rotations
